“We Believe” Quiet Book without images

I finished up another LDS quiet book called “We Believe.” This is what is included in the download.
I was able to keep all the cute doodle images in this book
because I purchased those and they can be used for personal use only. Yay!

Download:
Zipped Folder of all 4×6 pages

(please note that the zipped folder is very large and may take a while to download)

Now – what can you do with these .jpg files?

You can insert your own photos found in the:
Gospel Picture Art Book (my favorite!)…
or they are now shared on the Lds.org Media-library

I use Photoshop Elements to create the quiet books, but I’m sure there are other photo-editing softwares that you can use to insert the LDS images into your quiet books.

This is what my book looks like with the images inserted:

You are welcome to ask questions, but I can’t promise that I’ll have time to respond to all. 🙂

Merry Christmas!

p.s. Look for more quiet books without images coming soon!

‘Life of Christ’ Quiet Book without Images

Many have asked for the LDS Quiet Books without the images. I really, really, really want to share all I have, so I’ll slowly get to all of them. This is what is included in the download (+ a sample image of my book + 3 photoshop files so you can insert the large photo behind the text).

‘We Can Do Hard Things’ Freebie

The Good News: Today I’m sharing a Subway Art freebie.

The Bad News: It’s a peace-offering since I’m not going to reopen the SFD Digital Store this year.

You see… My life is full… full of good things, but I’m having to adjust and prioritize. My fun side-business has to be put on the back burner for a long while. I was asked to be the President of the Relief Society in our local church congregation a few weeks ago, which makes my life a wee bit more full.

This quote, “We Can Do Hard Things” is my new mantra. I love it! It reminds me that I can make it through hard things with my spouse, my family, my friends, and most importantly… my Heavenly Father. I know I am strengthened by Him daily. Everyone has hard things… everyone. We need each other. I even remind my 3-year-old that HE CAN DO HARD THINGS… like pulling up his pants or cleaning up his room or eating 3 bites of that nasty dinner. This quote applies to all.

Download:
16×20 & 8×10 We Can Do Hard Things

4×6 We Can Do Hard Things

5×7 We Can Do Hard Things

p.s. I do have to apologize that all the images I shared are pretty random. There is no consistent color scheme in all the sizes and on some images there is a scripture from Alma 26:12… and others, a scripture from Mark 10:27. What can I say… I’m a spaz sometimes? Hopefully you’ll find one to enjoy… and another to share with a friend.

p.p.s. 16×20 prints well in an 8×10 size… so don’t let that frighten you – the dimensions are the same. Also… for your convenience the 3×4 cards are designed to print two-up on a 4×6 print.

p.p.p.s. quiet books… the LDS Intellectual Properties department has NOT given us the go-ahead with sharing the quiet books. I’m sad… like really sad. I’m not able to email the books to anyone. Sad. Someday, if I ever have the time, I’d love to offer them with text only and share the links to images on lds.org so you can create your own. sigh…

Most of All… Remember that
WE Can Do Hard Things!

Our newest addition

We welcomed Eliza Ruth to our family on August 15. She weighed in at just under 7 lbs. She is a sweet little soul and we are enjoying those newborn snuggles.

I’m not sure when I’ll have the digital store up and running again. Five tots under the age of 8 is keeping me a bit busy. I’ll post updates when I have them. Thanks for your support.

Up… down… and all around

This is my life lately.
The digital subway art store has been up for a week. Yay!
But as of today we took the store down. Boo!

But a little thing called PREECLAMPSIA has entered my life in my 34th week of pregnancy. Hence… I’m slowing down… way down. A dear friend reminded me that it’s easier to say NO to things when you have something inside strongly saying “YES!” to other priorities… as in YES to healthy mother/baby/family. We’ll see how things go, but I’m not planning on doing much on Simply Fresh Designs until the late fall. Check back before Christmas and we’ll see if we can have a few things up and running.

Update on Quiet Books: A lot of you have asked if I can email the quiet book images to you. I’m afraid this still violates the Church’s Terms of Use (transmitting electronically). Boo! The good news is that my husband has started submitting some of the quiet books for church approval… so I’ll let y’all know how that goes when we hear back from the Intellectual Properties Department.

… On with the new

Introducing new items in the Simply Fresh Designs Digital Subway Art Shop. If you’re looking for an inexpensive way to decorate with word art, this is the place. These are just the beginning.SUBWAY-ART

Bye-Bye Quiet Books

Update: Please see Simply Fresh Designs DropBox for Download of quiet books.

The unfortunate news for today is thus: I cannot continue to share the quiet books with content from lds.org. Although I’ve tried very carefully to be honest and follow the lds.org terms of use, it appears the LDS Intellectual Property Division didn’t agree. They contacted me and said that images and text from lds.org are for individuals to create their own projects but not to distribute to others. Sharing or distributing anything I create using their images didn’t meet their terms of use, even though I wasn’t making any money.

Also, for your information, the IP Division said that printing quiet books, which contain lds.org content, through a professional print shop, such as Costco, was fine, as long as they were for immediate family only. The sharing of files with others was the violation.

Bottom line, I am having to indefinitely pull all posts and files for Quiet Books and Primary Sharing Time Monthly Themes. The LDS Church does have a process to request permission to use their content in this manner, and I plan to look into that, but I’m not holding my breath that such approval will ever come to pass.

So – for now. I apologize. I’m sad because I know thousands of you around the world enjoyed these quiet books. I feel selfish keeping them all to myself. I hope you can continue the tradition by creating your own books for your families. I’d be happy to create other quiet books in the future with original text and artwork (anyone out there want to volunteer to be the artist?!)… but we’ll see how things go after I have my baby in August.

Keep checking back for updates and new items going into the shop soon.

Meet the Fam

I’ve never really introduced myself on this site and figured now is as good a time as any. Meet the Fam… the Smith fam. I’m Heather… born and raised in fabulous (yet very windy) Idaho. In my married life we’ve lived in Humid South Florida, Roasting Hot Arizona, Beautiful Green Tennessee, and now Mountainous and Chilly Utah. My love, Jimmy, and I were married 10 1/2 years ago. Our oldest daughter is 8 1/2 and saves my life with all of her awesome help and cheerfulness. Next up – 3 boys… ages 7, 3 1/2, and 20 months … lots of adventures daily with those energetic tots. In the middle of August, we’ll welcome a new little girlie to our troop.

So – what’s up with Simply Fresh Designs in 2011. Well… the answer is “not as much as I’d expected one year ago”. Seems like every time I gear up to launch something new on this site, I feel that morning sickness coming on… which reminds me of my priorities as mother. But … if all goes well… I’ll try and post Family Tree Template Downloads as well as Custom Digital Subway Art downloads. Hopefully this summer I’ll also get the Old Testament Quiet Book finished. Always lots of fun ideas in my mind just waiting to get out.

I also wanted to shout out a big THANKS for all the kind comments and emails I’ve gotten from around the globe. I wish I could respond to all the questions and emails I’ve gotten, but alas… my life doesn’t allow for that much computer time (which only really can happen when the littles are all asleep). We’ll try and get some questions answered in a FAQ sometime soon.

There’s the scoop on our little fam and the most recent happenings with Simply Fresh Designs.
